Match – U Mumba vs Jaipur Pink Panthers
Date – 9 November 2018, 8:00 PM IST
Venue – NSCI Dome, SVP Stadium, Mumbai
The Pro Kabaddi League carnival moves on to a new destination as we are all set for the Mumbai leg to start off amidst the Diwali festivities. The NSCI Dome at the SVP Stadium will see the action as the home side U Mumba take on rivals Jaipur Pink Panthers in the first match in Mumbai.
U Mumba have been one of the in-form teams this season four wins in their last five matches and appear as one of the most well-balanced sides in the league. The raiding department has seen the emergence of a new anchor after the departures of Rishank Devadiga and Anup Kumar in the form of Siddharth Desai. The raider has set the league on fire with his exploits on the mat scoring a massive 97 points in 7 matches with six Super 10s to his name. The supporting cast in the raiding unit, Rohit Baliyan and Abhishek Singh have done well to keep him company. The defence has been marshalled by the formidable duo of Fazel Atrachali and Dharmaraj Cheralathan on the corners along with youngster Surender Singh in the covers. U Mumba will hope to carry their momentum and start off the home leg on a positive note.
Jaipur Pink Panthers recovered from a major slump of four defeats in their previous match when they won against Haryana Steelers in the UP leg. All-rounder Deepak Niwas Hooda, the big signing at the auction for Jaipur Pink Panthers finally put on his best display this season scoring a Super 10 and led the side to a much-needed win. The defence has suffered this season but the experienced corner Mohit Chillar has played well in a couple of matches and will hope to put on a more consistent showing as the season progresses. The addition of Young Chang Ko proved to be a fruitful one with the Korean cover defender scoring a High 5 and three tackle points in his two matches. Deepak Niwas Hooda will count on the support of his skipper Anup Kumar and fellow all-rounder Nitin Rawal to pose a stiff challenge to the home side U Mumba.

My dream XI
Siddharth Desai (17 Cr), Rohit Baliyan (14 Cr) and K Selvamani (13.5 Cr) form the raiding unit of the Dream XI Fantasy Squad.
Siddharth Desai is a no-brainer pick as he has been phenomenal for the U Mumba side whenever he has played and averages more than a Super 10 in 7 matches (97 raid points). Rohit Baliyan has been a credible support to Desai in the U Mumba raiding unit and done well in critical situations for the side. K Selvamani started in the previous encounter against Haryana Steelers and showed a lot of promise and can be expected to score well.
Surender Singh (13 Cr), Mohit Chillar (15 Cr) and Young Chang Ko (11.5 Cr) form the defensive lineup of the Dream XI Fantasy Squad.
Surender Singh has done well under the guidance of experienced U Mumba defenders to sneak in a good number of tackle points. Mohit Chillar and Young Chang Ko have been the two in-form defenders for the Jaipur side and can be tipped for a good return of points.
Deepak Niwas Hooda (16 Cr) forms the all-rounders of the Dream XI Fantasy Squad.
The all-rounder was impressive against the Haryana Steelers with his Super 10 performance and struck form this season finally. He will hope to continue the momentum and put on a good performance against the U Mumba side.
Captain and vice-captain: Siddharth Desai and Deepak Niwas Hooda
Alternative: Deepak Niwas Hooda and Rohit Baliyan
Player to watch out for: Deepak Niwas Hooda
The Jaipur Pink Panthers big-money buy did not start off well this season but finally hit the strides in his side’ victory over the Haryana Steelers side. He grabbed his first Super 10 this season and will hope to continue his form against U Mumba as well.
