Watford v Manchester City | Fantasy Preview, Probable XI and Players to watch out for

Match: Watford v Manchester City

Venue: Vicarage Road

Date: December 5, 2018

MATCH PREVIEW

As Manchester City travel to Vicarage Road to take on Watford on Tuesday night, they would be looking to stretch their unbeaten run in the Premier League to 15 matches.

City are coming into this match on the back of a strong 3-1 victory against Bournemouth at home and hence would like to carry their momentum forward. Watford , on the other hand, are winless in their last four games and desperately want to change their fortunes around. But it looks like an uphill climb against a strong City side this time. Nevertheless, they would still want to give their best in front of their home crowd.

DREAM 11 TEAM FORMATION APPROACH

With Pep Guardiola there, you can always expect some surprising player rotations. That’s why selecting Manchester City players becomes so difficult. But there is value in their mid-field and this match is high on City’s clean sheet potential too. So, you have to keep both aspects balanced with minimal number of Watford players. A 4-5-1 combination with 7 City players and 4 Watford players will serve the purpose perfectly.

COMBINED DREAM 11 TEAM

Goal-Keeper:

Ederson Moraes (8.5 Cr)-Machester

The Manchester City shot-stopper stands ahigh chance of keeping a clean sheet in this match. He comes into my team without any second thoughts.

Defenders:

Kyle Walker (8.5 Cr)-Manchester

Fabian Delph (8 Cr) -Manchester

Aymeric Laporte (8.5 Cr) -Manchester

Jose Holebas (9.5 Cr) –Watford

Three City defenders—Walker, Delph and Laporte—have been selected owing to their clean sheet potential in this match. Holebas from Watford finds a place mainly because he is full back capable of delivering crosses into the box and also takes set-pieces for his team.

Mid-Fielders:

Raheem Sterling (10.5 Cr) -Manchester

Riyad Mahrez (9.5 Cr) -Manchester

David Silva (9 Cr) -Manchester

Roberto Pereyra (10.5 Cr)- Watford

Nathaniel Chalobah (8 Cr)-Watford

Three of the best City mid-fielders in Sterling, Silva and Mahrez have been in sleceted. Sterling has been in red-hot form while Silva and Mahrez have also done very well. Pereyra is probably Watford’s best mid-fielder and Chalobah is merely a budget pick here.

Forwards:

Gerard Deulofeu (9.5 Cr)-Watford

It is quite uncertain who City’s forward is going to be in this mach. It can be Aguero if he passes the medical assessment, else it will be Jesus. Either way, none are confirmed. So, it’s better to go with Deulofeu who has shown sparks of brilliance in the league thus far.

Captain: Raheem Sterling

Vice-Captain: David SIlva
