North East United FC v Bengaluru FC | Fantasy Preview, Probable XI and Players to watch out for

Match: North East United FC v Bengaluru FC

Venue: Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium, Guwahati

Date: December 5, 2018

Time: 19:30 IST

MATCH PREVIEW

North East United FC would look to close the gap between them and other teams above in the points table as they take on the league leaders Bengaluru FC at home on Wednesday evening. They are coming into this match on the back of a goalless draw against Jamshedpur FC in the last match and hence would be looking to make most of the opportunity this time around at home.

Bengaluru, on the other hand, are the only unbeaten team in the season so far. They are on a six-game winning streak now and will only look to better it as they travel to Guwahati. But their last five victories have been quite narrow ones. The oppositions have given them quite some headaches to deal with and North East would now want to become the side to end their unbeaten streak.

PROBABLE STARTING XI

North East United FC (4-2-3-1): Pawan—Reagan, Gurwinder, Grgic, Lathlamuana—Rowlin, Leudo—Tlang, Gallego, Mascia—Ogbeche

Bengaluru FC (4-2-3-1): Gurpreet—Khabra, Bheke, Juanan, Nishu—Paartalu, Delgado—Udanta, Xisco, Chettri—Chencho

DREAM 11 TEAM FORMATION APPROACH

This promises to be a high intensity match which may see multiple goals being scored by each side. So, a we should go with a maximum of three defenders. Make sure to keep the player distribution in the defensive line (including goal-keeper) equal from both sides. The same process should be followed for the midfield. And a lot of mid-fielders from both sides are listed as forwards. So, make sure to use the maximum limit for forwards which is three. A 3-4-3 formation seems to be the most suitable.

COMBINED DREAM 11 TEAM

Goal-Keeper:

Gurpreet Singh (8.5 Cr) – Bengaluru

While North East have rotated their keepers TP Rehnesh and Pawan Kumar, Bengaluru have gone with their ace Indian international shot-stopper Gurpreet Singh. SO, Gurpreet seems to be the safest option to go with.

Defenders:

Robert Lathlamuana (8.5 Cr)- North East United

Reagan Singh (8.5 Cr)- North East United

Rahul Bheke (8.5 Cr) – Bengaluru

Lathlamuana and Reagan have been instrumental in their full back roles for North East this season. They make it into this team without any second thoughts. Bheke, on the other hand, has been solid in defence for Bengaluru and also has a goal to his name this season. He is our third defender.

Mid-Fielders:

Federico Gallego (10.5 Cr) – North East United

Udanta Singh (9 Cr) – Bengaluru

Redeem Tlang (8.5 Cr) – North East United

Xisco Hernandez (8.5 Cr) – Bengaluru

All the four mid-fielders above have skills that can break up the defensive build-up of any opposition with ease. Goals can come from any of them. So, it would only be foolish to miss out on even one of them.

Forwards:

Bartholomew Ogbeche (10.5 Cr) – North East United

Sunil Chhetri (10.5 Cr)-Bengaluru

Juan Mascia (8.5 Cr) – North East

Ogbeche has been a force to reckon with in North East’s forward line this season. I don’t need to explain why you should pick Chhettri in your team and Mascia has been in fabulous form in the last few matches as well.

Captain: Bartholomew Ogbeche

Vice-Captain: Sunil Chhetri
