AUS vs IND Pre Match Analysis

Match Details

Australia vs India, 1st ODI

11th January – 1:30 PM IST

Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney

Pitch Report

SCG could offer some turn as it did in the Test series. So, have spinners in your team.

Match Overview

We are into the Limited overs format of the series which will sum the tour up with bragging rights up for grabs.

Australia has already announced their XI for the game which shows Carey at the top with Usman at one drop. Peter Siddle returns to the XI after 8 years and will be raring to go. He has been in really good touch for the Strikers in BBL T20.

India, on the other hand, will miss Hardik Pandya as he has been suspended and won’t be available for selection due to the KJo Fiasco. But they have a strong line-up on paper with Rohit and SD the usual suspects at the top along with a good bowling unit containing Bhuvi, Khaleel and Kuldeep.

Probable Starting XI

IND– Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli (c), Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni (wk), Kedar Jadhav, Ravindra Jadeja, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Khaleel Ahmed

AUS– Aaron Finch (c), Alex Carey (wk), Usman Khawaja, Shaun Marsh, Peter Handscomb, Marcus Stoinis, Glenn Maxwell, Peter Siddle, Jhye Richardson, Nathan Lyon, Jason Behrendorff

My XI (H2H Preferred)

WK

Carey is expected to open the innings a position where he has done really well for the Redbacks in JLT ODI Cup.

BAT

I have gone with 3 batsmen from India i.e. Top triplet including Rohit, SD and VK. After facing the axe, Aaron Finch has been working hard on his technique and should come good today.

AR

Jadeja is useful in middle overs where he controls the run-flow and can pick up those important wickets. If there is some real turn Maxi can roll his arm over for Aussies while Stoinis should give you a good number of points.

BOWL

Kuldeep and Khaleel are must-have if you are playing Small Leagues while Jhye Richardson is a bit of a punt but could pay off huge dividends.

C&VC: VK and M Stoinis
